Thanks Mike for a short, readable commentary on the pro-life movement. Some of your points are not new, but they needed to be between two covers without 10,000 footnotes. (You know what I mean)
The emphasis on prayer is reflected in 40 Days for Life and the other prayer based ministries that preceded it. I agree that’s where our power has always been.
Thank you for highlighting post abortion recovery ministries. The post-abortive world can be the largest constituency due to the numbers if they are respected and not pushed toward public advocacy without regard for their real need for healing. I co-founded a post abortion ministry along with my wife and the need is equally as great within the church, the pro-life movement and pro-choice world.
Your example of funding a PHC is a real concrete witness. All organizations covet their treasure. Sharing it silences the accusation of our critics and more importantly strengthens the movement that needs to move toward having “all things in common”.

Thank you Mike. We will purchase your book,
read it, and pass it on. I am a college prof
and my students know my views on this issue.
I am one of those single-issue voters...and
this is the issue. I always am looking for
new material to share with my students.
God bless you. Have a superb 2010!

Dear Mike:

Life News quoted you as saying: "I am tempted to say that the life movement is the most splintered movement of its kind in the world. Everyone is doing his or her own thing. Some groups spend more time griping about what others in the life movement are doing wrong than they do about the organizations that take human life."

I couldn't agree more. In fact, I'm trying to promote unity among pro-life ministries through my blog http://Pro-LifeTribe.blogspot.com. Please visit it and consider writing a 100-200 word plea for unity. I'll post it along with a blurb for your book. Blessings, Julie Surface Johnson

Mike, your book 'Viability' is exactly the kind of gut check we need as the pro-life movement plans for the next decade and beyond. This is a must-read for every pro-life leader and volunteer. It changed my thinking.
